The Monarch is based on the Fender Brownface Princeton (6G2) of the early 1960s.
Brownface Fender amps are coveted by collectors, and were only produced for a few years. They have been described as being somewhere between a tweed and
a blackface. One thing is for sure - they hit with a direct punch, and come loaded with a
bias wiggle tremolo which produces a smooth, deep and lush modulation. The Brownface Princeton has recently been brought back into production by Fender with the release of the Chris Stapleton signature model. Modifications to the original specification include 12" Eminence speaker,
adjustable bias, additional components to protect power tube section and changes to the grounding scheme to reduce hum. The Monarch sports similar modifications and as a result is not only very reliable but produces fantastic cleans and easily accessible overdrive.
The Monarch is a 12W combo amplifier with volume, tone, tremolo speed and intensity controls. Further voicings can be achieved by the negative feedback control on the rear of the amp.
The Monarch comes with a single button footswitch for tremolo.
